FOUNDATION STONE LAID

NEW BAPTIST CHURCH (Special to THE SUN) PUKEKOHE, To-day. The foundation-stone of the new Baptist Church at Pukekohe was laid on Saturday afternoon by Air. Samuel Barry, president of the New Zealand Baptist Union, before a representative attendance of members of the union and of the Auckland auxiliary. The first service was held in a hall at Pukekohe about 18 months ago, said Air. J. T. Stembridge, in welcoming the visitors. Numbers increased, and it was decided to erect a church in permanent materials. The Auckland auxiliary is providing £ 100 toward the cost of this work.
