INFLUENZA IN PACIFIC

SUVA, Friday. The Pacific Islands, Rotuma, Futuna and Wallis, which have populations respectively of 2,300, 1,500 and 4,500, have lost 30, 31 and 40 persons from pneumonic influenza. These islands escaped the 1918 visitation. The other Pacific islands, which were swept fatally in 1918, have had no deaths in this visitation of the disease.
