T ILIAN BRAITHWAITE told members of the London Soroptimist Club at their weekly luncheon that the qualities required by a girl who wanted to become an actress were:

The courage of a lion. The hide of a rhinoceros. The endurance of an Arctic explorer; and A good home to which she could go when she was out of an engagement. “Given these things,” said Miss Braithwaite, “there is no reason why a girl should not make her living on the stage.”
