FULL INQUIRY WANTED
THE TAMASESE CASE SAMOAN LEAGUE’S MOVE “That this meeting requests an immediate Government inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the arrest of High Chief Tamasese.” That was the key resolution passed last evening at a meeting of the New' Zealand Samoan Defence Leasrue when questions affecting Samoa and the imprisonment of Tamasese were discussed. Other resohitions were: That an extensive platform campaign be commenced and continued throughout New ealand to make fully public the actions of the late administration. That a public demonstration be held in the Town Hall, Auckland, in the immediate future, to consider a request to be made to the Prime Minister inviting him to revoke the sentences on Tamasese and other deportees, and to call them to a round table conference in Wellington with a view to an amicable settlement of Samoan affairs. That a full inquiry be made into the qualifications of the Samoan justiciary and the administration of justice in Samoa. That the Prime Minister be asked to act with promptitude in the matter of redress for Samoa, and that it congratulates him on liis conciliatory attitude, and his publication of the ternchant indictment of the administration of Samoa.
