NOISY BURGLARS

NEIGHBOUR GIVES ALARM (Special to THE SUN) "" CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Awakened by a crash of glass, a New Brighton woman saw a man crawling through the broken door of a fruiterer a.nd tobacconist’s shop, owned by Mr. G. Weavers, early this morning. The man gained entrance and admitted two others. Mrs. McKenzie awakened her father, who went downstairs and called out to the men, who dashed out of the shop with a full sack. They made off on bicycles. Constable Henderson found two bags of stolen goods on the floor. To-day, a boy found several packets of cigarettes scattered about on the beach, and on further search the stolen sack, full of pipes, cigarettes, etc., was found on a nearby sandhill. In all, £25 worth of goods was stolen.
