Three Games On
Suburban Cricket Honours
Harbour Board’s Sound Position
THE third series of games in the Suburban Cricket Association’s Senior A competition will end on the Domain to-morrow afternoon. In only one game is a decisive xvin yet apparent.
This is in the Board-Glen Eden match, where the Board has a big score of 449 runs to its credit on the first innings. Glen Eden, which has not shown remarkable batting calibre, does not seem likely to be able to overtake this total. The Edeners should make a game struggle, so the game will not be devoid of interest. The most interesting position is in the game in which Green Lane and Ellerslie are engaged. Ellerslie made the good score of 189 last Saturday and Green Lane, in its first innings, has five wickets down for 114 runs. If the Laners are favoured with a batsmen’s wicket to-morrow, they may wag their tail vigorously. Ponsonby, still eagerly in quest of the championship, put up the excellent score of 291 against Victoria, which has lost one wicket for 11 runs. Victoria has a difficult task ahead. Teams are: Senior B Grade Harbour Board—Armstrong, Wright, Learning, Jaquiery, Farrant, Williams (2), Saxon, H. Bennett, F. Turner, Douglas. Second Grade Invicta —Gwillim. Hudson, Cheeseman, Mellor, Rimmer, Houston, Stone, Grant, Howarth. Bryan, Everitt. F. J. Fawcett, Ltd.—E. Fawcett, Fallon, Skeen, Robinson, Rowe (2), Axon,

From the ranks of ai! the younger 1 women swimmers in New Zealand toe day, Peggy Robertson is outstanding. _ she’ has twice equalled Ena Stockley’s s record for the women's 100 yards, and this when she is still intermediate giri r champion. Miss Robertson has been credited with breaking Miss Stockt ley's time. It is not unlikely that she will do so before the season is out, s for in a paced official test this week, y when she equalled the record, she was e without competition for practically all - the distance.
