WELLINGTON REGATTA WAS UNRELIABLE GUIDE TO FORM FOR N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS
Owing to adverse weather conditions j last Saturday, it is almost impossible to use the Wellingt.on regatta as an indi- j cation of what the results will be at j Picton on Saturday when the New Zea- • land titles will be at stake. So bad j was the wind at one stage of the pro- ; eeedings that the committee was compelled to call a halt for about an hour, and even though the wind did moderate to some extent the racing was by no means what it would have been under favourable conditions. Most interest attached to the senior races, as with
few exception the crews will be contending for Dominion titles on Saturday. The senior fours turned out to be an entire fiasco. Hamilton having a j row-over, as the Petone crew had i failed to be on the mark in time. In j the other events several boats were j swamped and took no part in the races ! they were out for.
