Mr. W. B. Mcllveney, Commissioner of Police, arrived in Auckland by the Limited express this morning.
Sub-Inspector J. Lander, formerly of Wellington, has arrived in Auckland on route to Samoa, where he will be stationed for a period.
Mr. J- J. Kearney, acting-chief postmaster, is on a short holiday. His place is filled by Mr. F. E. Beamish, acting-assistant-postmaster.
Mr. J- A. Flesher has arrived from Christchurch to attend the Methodist Conference and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Cooke, Bella Vista Koad, Herne Bay.
Mr. O. Moller, organiser for the United Party, is expected back in Auckland on Saturday morning. He has been attending a party conference in 'Wellington.
Mr. J. M. Elliffe, Mr. A. M. Seaman and Mr. H. C. Robinson left last evening for Wellington, where they will attend meetings of the council of the Sew Zealand Society of Accountants.
Mr. Ernest Wilson, who for some years has represented Spear and Jackson, Ltd., and Joseph Rodgers and Sons, Ltd., of Sheffield, is leaving for England by the Ulimarou to-morrow on a visit to his principals.
The Hon. H. F. Troy, Minister of Lands for Western Australia, who is visiting New Zealand to study farming conditions, is at Hamilton, where he will remain for several days. He is accompanied by Mrs. Troy.
To-morrow the Postmaster-General, the Hon. J. B. Donald, will leave on an extensive tour of the South Island. He will be accompanied by Mr. P. MacN'amara, Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department.
Mr. N. T. Lambourne, senior inspector of schools in the Wanganui Education Board’s district, has been appointed to a position in the head office of the Education Department, and will leave for Wellington at Easter.
The Rev. Father Delaney’s appointment as Vicar-General of the Diocese of Dunedin with the title of Monsignor has been announced.
