SUSPICIOUS FIRES

SIX IN MONTH THAMES POLICE WATCHFUL Press Association THAMES SOUTH, Wednesday. Obvious incendiarism, an attempt to burn down the Central Hall, Thames, was discovered last evening. A fire had been lit under the building at the back, but had' burnt out after charring a number of boards. The brigade has been turned out frequently recently to fires of a suspicious origin and last evening was called out to an empty house in Hope Road, which had apparently been set alight. The brigade saved the house, but two firemen were temporarily overcome by the dense smoke. This morning the brigade was called to yet another fire, this time a garage in Beach Road, which was saved easily. This was the sixth fire this month. The police are investigating.
