EXPENSIVE DRINKS
MOTORIST FINED £lO (From Our Oxen Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. A well-known athlete, Burnett Matthew Murray. smartly attired and bearing no evidences of heavy drinking, stood in the dock at the Police Court to-day, pleading guilty to being drunk in charge of a motor-lorry. Sergeant Mattliieson said that although warned by the police, accused attempted to drive a heavy lorry to Morrinsville last night while inebriated. Murray was a first offender, and used the lorry for private contracts. He did not regard the case as serious. Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., fined accused £lO. instructing him to take out a prohibit ion order.
