FOR CANCER RESEARCH
N.Z. CAN DO SOMETHING SPECIALIST’S ADVICE Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. In an interview to-day Mr. William Sampson Handley, the London cancer authority, said that if New Zealand took the initiative in forming a branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign he would feel his visit had not been in vain. It had been reported to him that, in the opinion of certain people in the Dominion, it. was not worth New Zealand’s while to spend any money on cancer research. He entirely disagreed. He thought that New Zealand could do something to forward the movement, something to help itself, and in so doing would help them at home. The message he wished to leave behind was one of hopefulness, and he asked that the problem be faced with courage and common sense.
