Rapier Heads the Speedy Limerick GREAT STAR’S SPRINT RICCARTON TRAINING Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. The weather was fine for training operations at Riecarton, the outside of the course proper being open, but most of the work was done on the ploughAgrion and Pride did a working gallop a mile, and Paquito ran six furlongs in 1.17 4-5. Jaleux beat Rigmarole over six in 1.17 3-5, Goblin Market brushed down the straight, and Chide beat Paperchase over about seven furlongs, the last six taking 1.16 4-5.

Rapier beat Limerick by a length over seven in 1.28 4-5, Battle Colours taking 1.34 3-5 for the same journey. Paper Boy covered six easily in 1.19, Starshooter doing nicely over the same ground. Full Feather and Prickles were well matched over a mile in 1.45, and Aberfeldy and Royal Chiron went six on the course in 1.17 4-5. Viscount easily beat Hounslow from the six on the course in 1.18 2-5. and Towai beat Wrigley over seven on the course in 1-31.

Stately ran six in 1.17 2-5, and Impertinence and Semper Parratus left live behind in 1.4 1-5.

Belcaire ran half of the course in 50 3-5. Thurso beat Bourse over five in 1.4 1-5, and Louis.- md Phastar ran five in 1.3 2-5.

Pangolin, Crown Area and Greyfinch jumped off from the six furlongs’ post at intervals. Crown Area took 51 2-5, the last half of his effort being slightly the best.

Star Raid beat Moratorium over seven in 1.31 3-5, and Count Cavour ran a mile i 1.43, easily beating Amor, who joined in over the last sixSudden Storm did five in 1.2 3-5, Atone easily beat Caterpillar over half a mile on the course in 49 2-5, Arch Arrow beat Sky quest over five in 1.3 4-5, and Waterlow and Evening covered six in 1-18 1-5 from a slow start. Great Star showed great brilliancy, doing three up the back in 37 from a stand. Pahoutan and Arrowhead ran five on the course, the last half in 51 3-5. Pink Coat has arrived from South Canterbury.
