N.S.W. GAME ABANDONED GIFTS TO THE VISITORS (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) SYDNEY, Tuesday. The cricket match. New South Wales v. England, was abandoned to-day. Heavy rain fell last night and again this morning, and the wicket was spoiled, making a continuance of play impossible. The game, therefore, was drawn, the scores being: New South Wales, 12S; England, 144 for four ■wickets.
After luncheon the officials of the New South Wales Cricket Association presented Mr. F. C. Toone, manager of the English team, w-ith a ■ solid silver tray, and the captain, Mr. A. P. F. Champan, with a sliver fruit salver. In tile course of his reply Mr. Chapman said his men had tried every inch of the way in every game. He congratulated the New South Wales selectors upon choosing so many colts to play against the visitors. He referred to his own team as the “best lot of chaps" who had ever left the Motherland to play cricket.
