CASH-ORDER SYSTEM

COMMISSION TO INVESTIGATE BUSINESSMEN CRITICAL What has been described in Australia as a system “supporting a class of unfinancial middleman”—the cashorder system in business—is now being investigated by New Zealand business people. The Importers’ Committee of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce is to make investigations into the system, and next month a commission of inquiry formed by the Government will sit in Auckland. It will also hear opinions in other centres. At the last conference of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, the system was unanimously condemned. * When the Auckland Chamber met yesterday afternoon, Mr. L. A Eady said that the move would be certain to create a good deal of feeling and adverse comment.
