ROUTE OF NEW RAILWAY DEPUTATIONS TO MINISTER Press Association GISBORNE, Tuesday. The lion. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Public Works, returned to Gisborne to-night after a visit to Waikokopu and an inspection of the proposed coastal route for the Gisborne-Wairoa railway. The Minister was accorded ;t civic reception anu later received deputations. In reference to the route of the pro* posed railway from Wairoa, deputations urging the merits of the rival inland and coastal routes placed their views before the Minister. In reply, Mr. Ransom explained that he and his colleagues wished to make a personal inspection of the district’s potentialities and difficulties. Later they would meet to discuss matters and receive estimates of costs. A derision regarding the route would then be announced.
