“PICKLED PORTER”

WALLACE AT ST. JAMES Bright comedy, delightful singing and dancing combine to make the “Pickled Porter,” this week’s programme at St. James, one of the best shows yet put on by George Wallace and his talented company. Mr. Wallace continues to carry the burden of most of the fooling on his capable shouldex's, and his very appearance on the stage is greeted with enthusiasm by audiences with, whom ho is undoubtedly popular. Maude Stewart, Maine Nyman, Jack Scott and Jim Komaino share the .honours with their chief. Marshall Crosby scores a hit with an old favourite in “Cloze Props.” The “Flaming Youths” band is pleasing with concerted numbers and solos by Alex Thompson, Bert Tucker and Bunny Cannan. The dancing is excellent, and the ballet, attractively frocked, is one of the sho\y’s best features.
