AGED PRISONER

FIFTY-TWO YEARS IN GAOL YOUTHFUL MURDERER Jesse Pomeroy, who probably has spent more time behind the bars than any man in America, has now ended his 52nd year of imprisonment at Boston. Massachusetts. The famous lifer, who entered prison as a 15-year-old boy, is to-day a bent and withered'old man. Prison officials state that Pomeroy is in his usual good health. The first 38 of his prison years were passed in solitary confinement. Pomeroy, after he had confessed to the murders of two children, was senlenced to be hanged: but because of ills youth, the sentence was commuted to life Imprisonment. The twelve men " ho comprised the Pomeroy jury are aeau.
