POINT CHEVALIER BEACH Sir, — May I express the feelings of annu. ance which possessed many bath-rj at Point Chevalier on Sunday by tta removal of the pontoon. This, ia ffa past, has provided fun for thousand, young and old, and it is a pity the City Council insisted on its remcv/. Without this diving convenience* ti* beach has lost interest to many. !! the council would endeavour to put the Parnell baths in order the action would be appreciated. While on t subject of baths I would like to point out that although a special pump h*a been installed at the Parnell baths Lm water is as filthy as ever. The m.tef was changed last Tuesday and tW morning (Monday) was still unehangti Is this not appalling when one considers the number of people who visit the baths each day at this time of tin year? Let us hope that the next May • and council will advocate assista: private enterprise and then we shall be able to have satisfaction and service. I understand this is one of ti* objections that will be raised by Mr. Vaile should he be elected, and I only hope he will carry out his promise and thereby do the public a gru service. AQUATIC
