TWO RUSSIAN STORIES
SUCCESS OF YOUNG DIRECTOR Lewis Milestone, whose reputation was established by his direction of "Two Arabian Knights,” has been loaned to United Artists to direct "The Shot,” and then “Taras Bulba" respectively Pushkin and Gogol stories that will hp filmed in 192 a for United Artists. Mr. Milestone will first direct Emil Jannings’a next Paramount picture. "Ellis Island.’’ Successive direction of “Two Arabian Knights.” "The Garden of Eden," and “The Racket,” won for Lewis Milestone a high place in the ranks of picture-makers. The young man has been a protege of John W. Considine. jun. The association of this pair hi the making or' "Two Arabian Knights will be resumed with "The Shot.” based on a story of Alexander Pushkin, and to feature Rod La Roeque, and it will be continued in the filming of "Taras Bulba.” Nicolai Gogol's story of a Cossack hetman and his two sons.
