BATHING SHEDS NEEDED A proposal to erect modern bathing facilities at Narrow Neck was examined by a public meeting held in the Narrow Neck llall last evening on the initiative of the Devonport Borough Council. T c °uncil was represented by Crs. I. Alassey, W. F. Campbell and T. Wash. Air. Walsh, who was in the chair, explained that the council had long recognised that the existing bathing sheds had outlived their usefulness, but financial consideration had prevented any improvement being made. Canoe and boat owners wanted permission to erect sheds and, while anxious to meet them, the council was against a multiplicity of sheds on the beach. . was suggested that joint action by the residents, boat owners and the council might secure the erection of one really useful building that would serve all purposes. Some of the audience objected to building sheds for the use of visitors to the beach. Others thought the funds of the borough should be used. A proposal by Mr. T. N.
