The committee of the Waimauku Primary School decided, at a recent meeting, to enter a protest to the Auckland Kdui£ n L, ‘i ar<: ? against the inferior qualitv of the school books issued under the new syiabus. Although of inferior quality, F,*;. i COS r was higher, which made it haider for parents. Samples of books T , y re ‘ sho "' n at the meeting which, although they had only been used a few times, were already very dilapidated. Another disadvantage was that they were \ ery hard to obtain. Waimauku was lucky in securing a few copies, but although school had been resumed for a fortnight, no copies had been obtained at Muriwai School. It was also decided to take up the matter of the delay of the proficiencv certificates, which did not arrive until a train after school hours on breaking-up day last year.
Another decision was that the annual school picnic was to be held on FebruaP' 23. on \ he property of Mr. A. Burrell, o f wa.lma uk u.
