DIVER DISLOCATES SPINE

A youth named J. TI. King, aged 20. living in Durham Street, Christchurch. when diving from the pier into the water at Sumner struck the bottom with his head. He lay in water unconscious until a bystander jumped in fully clad and brought him out. His spine is believed to be dislocated. His condition to-day was reported to be very serious.—P.A.
