SATURDAY’S MATCHES There was a large attendance at the Auckland Gun Club’s grounds on Saturday, when the Pakuranga farmers shoot created great interest, A. Dunn winning with rive birds out of seven. U>. Greenwood being runner up with four. Tlie winner receives a trophy from the club. The chief match for Mr. F. E. McKenzie’s handsome trophy resulted in a tie between R. H. Bartley, 11yds, and W. H. Hazard, 12yds, with 14 birds out of 15. They shot off at five birds. Bartley getting five and winning. Hazard secured three. Bartley was making his first appearance as a member and Hazard made a reappearance after an absence of five The first seven birds’ sweepstake was won outright by A. E. Macredie, 19vds, with the possible. C. E. Hodge, 19yds. M. Delicti, 12yds. \V. H. Hazard, 12yds, and A. M. Bartley. 11yds. divided second money with six birds. The second match was divided by R. H. Bartley. A. Hannigan and M. Delich, all off 12yds, with the possible. Each shooter got his birds with tlie first barrel.
The first double rise match was divided by A. E. Macredie. 19yds, F. IT. Hazard, 14yds. P. N. Gallie, 11yds, and A. Hannigan. 13yds. with seven birds out of ten. The second double rise match was won outright by P. X. Gallie, 11yds, with eight out of ten. The aggregate match, which will be concluded on March 6. is; producing a most exciting contest, sivc members being within one point of each other. Mr. J. Martin Wilson lias donated to the club a trophy for competition at the Easter shoot, and the Pakuranga farmers have also donated a special trophy.
