WAIOTAPU SAILING.—At 4 o’clock this afternoon the Union Company’s cargo steamer Waiotapu leaves Auckland for Vancouver direct, where she will load for New Zealand and Australia. NIAGARA REPORTED.—The Royal Mail liner Niagara reached Suva from Auckland at noon yesterday. She sailed later in the day in continuation of her voyage tc* Honolulu and Vancouver. The vessel is due at Vancouver on March 1. COAL FROM NEWCASTLE.—The local office of the Union Company advises that the Kurow is due at Auckland on Monday morning from Newcastle and the Kawatiri the same afternoon. After discharge, the Kurow returns to Newcastle for further loading, while the Kawatiri pays off. COPTIC TO LOAD.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company reports that the Coptic is due at Gisborne on March 12 from Australia to commence loading. She will subsequently load also at New Plymouth, Wanganui, Lyttelton and Wellington. The vessel is due at 'Wellington on April 3, and will sail from there on April 6 for London, via Panama. THE WAIHEMO.—The Union Company’s trans-Pacific steamer Waihemo left New Westminster for San Francisco and Los Angeles on Wednesday to complete loading Pacific Coast cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. The vessel is schedu.ed to clear Los Angeles on February 22 and to reach Auckland on March 19. ZEALANDIC TO LOAD. —The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advises that the Zealandic is due at Bluff on March 6 from Australia to commence loading for London. She will a,so load at Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington, arriving there on March 16. The vessel is to leave Wellington on March 23 for Port Chalmers, and will sail from there on March 2S for London, via Panama. THE PORT CAROLINE. —The C. and IT. Line advises that the Port Caroline arrived at New Plymouth at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday from Timaru. She will leave the Taranaki port to-night for the Wanganui roadstead and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on Tuesday, and will sail again on Thursday for London, Avon mouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Panama. •OIL FROM SAN PEDRO.—The new motor-tanker Orkanger is expected at Auckland from San Pedro about the end of February with a full cargo of bulk oil for the Atlantic Union Oil Company. The other unloading ports are Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. The Orkanger has only recently been launched, and is a vessel of 8,030 tons, similar in design to the tanker Brunswick, which was recently at Auckland. ULIMAROA LEAVES SYDNEY. —The Huddart-Parker Steamer Ulimaroa left Sydney for Auckland last evening with passengers, mail and cargo. She is due on Tuesday morning, and,is to sail on her return trip to Sydney next Friday. The vessel is scheduled to sail from Sydney for Wellington on March 28, instead of on the following day. which is Good Friday. She is due at Wellington on Easter Monday and will sail on her return trip to Sydney on Friday, April 5.
TASMANIA TO LOAD.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises the Tasmania is due at New Plymouth from Australia on March 13 to commence loading in New Zealand for America and England. The other loading ports are Wanganui, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne and Auckland. The vessel is scheduled to reach Auckland on March 5, and to sail for New York, Halifax. London and West Coast ports of Great Britain on March 10.
THE PORT MELBOURNE. —Scheduled to reach Auckland from Newcastle on Monday, the Commonwea.th and Dominion Line steamer Port Melbourne will berth at Prince’s Wharf to commence loading in New Zealand for England, to the agency of the Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company. From Auckland the vessel will go to Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne, Napier and Wellington to continue loading. She will later return to Auckland to complete her cargo, and she is to be dispatched finally from this port for London on March 10.
WESTMORELAND TO LOAD.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal steamer Westmoreland, which is due at Auckland on Monday j from Liverpool, is to commence loading for London and West Coast ports of Great Britain on March 9 at Port Chalmers. She will subsequently load also at Bluff, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wanganui and Wellington, arriving there on March 20. The vessel is to leave Wellington on March 23 for Port Chalmers to fi.l up, end will sail finally from the latter port c % March 2S. CORNWALL TO LOAD.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises' that the Federal steamer Cornwall, which is to leave Port Chalmers this morning for New Plymouth to complete discharge, will j commence loading at the latter port next j Thursday for London and West Coast ports of Great Britain. She will next j load also at Opua. Auckland and 'Wellington, arriving there on March 7. The I Cornwall will leave Wellington on March 14 for Napier to till up, and is to sail finally from Napier on March 18 for London. Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool, via Panama. I HUM AT A SOLD.—Tt is stated on reliable authority that the Ihumata. which sailed from Greymouth for Australia on Saturday evening, has made her last trip to Greymouth, says the “Star.” It is | understood that the Ihumata has been * sold to Eastern owners. The Ihumata was built at Hoboken, in Holland, about ] 15 years ago, and during the last 17 years lias been a regular trader between Aus- 1 tralia and New Zealand ports. The vessel is stil’ sound and seaworthy, but modern conditions and the demand for up-to-date ships, have decided her owners to dispose of her. It is probable that a modern type of ship will replace her , in this trade. j

The Bakena leit Lonuon on Novemoer 30 tor Y\ est and South African ports with general cargo, under charter to the UnionCastle Line. After discharging at seven ports the vessel left Port Natal on January 34 for Wellington. Fine weatner wit a following winds and seas prevailed practically tnroughout the run to Wellington, which was made after an excellent passage of 21 days. The ship averaged 12.ST knots throughout the run from Port Natal. No land was sighted, and the trip was uneventful. Captain W. B. Clifton-Mqgg is in command of the Pakeha and his officers are; Chief, Mr. W. J. Canner; second. Mr. G. H. Smith: third. Mr. G. L. Almond; fourth, Mr. B. M. Morris: radio operator, Mr. A. E. Harvey; chief engineer. Mr. A. E. Cooper; second, Mr. E. A. Spencer; third, Mr. E. G. hiudeur; fourth. Mr. K. Magee; fifth, Mr. T. G. Jones; sixth, Mr. C. N. Price; seventh, Mr. J. McKinnon, the chief refrigerating engineer, aged 41 years, died in the Durban Hospital from natural causes. lie was making his first trip to New ZeaThe Pakeha, after part landing at Wellington, will leave there on Tuesday for Wanganui, Lyttelton, Napier, Auckland, Wanganui, and then will return to Wellington to fill up.
