ALLAN WILKIE RETURNING

MORE SHAKESPERIAN PLAYS On March 2 the Allan Wilkie Shakespearian Company will commence a three weeks’ season at His Majesty’s Theatre, Auckland. The plays to be staged will include “The Merchant of Venice,” “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” “A Midsummer Night’s Bream,” “The Taming of the Shrew,” “Othello,” “Romeo and Juliet,” “Coriolanus,” “Twelfth Night,” “Henry the Fifth,” “All’s W T ell That Ends Well,” “As You Like It,” “King Lear,” “The Tempest,” “Julius Caesar,” “Macbeth,” “Hamlet,” and “Henry the Eighth.” The presentation of “Coriolanus” will be the first in Auckland.

Mr. Allan Wilkie will again be supported in the leading female roles by Miss Hunter-Watts, who so distinguished herself by her delightful artistry during previous tours of the Bominion.

At the head of a number of recent additions to the company is Mr. Alexander Marsh, who has lately arrived from England, where he was at the head of his own Shakespearian companies for some years, and also played leading parts with Sir Frank Benson. Mr. Wilkie’s supporting company of 30 performers will again include Miss Lorna Forbes and Mr. Bennis Barry.
