AUSSIE AND LIMERICK rpHI; fine showing made in the '*■ sprint at Wingatui yesterday, when he was beaten by a fair sort of three-year-old in Rin Tin Tin, indicates that he is at his best, and fit to give Limerick a good race in the Hazlett Memorial, one mile, to-morrow. It is more than ikely thr.t Aussie will be benefited by his outing yesterday, insofar as getting acquainted with the course is concerned, but on the other hand his effort under 10.4 might have told on him. Limerick will be having his first outing since racing at Randwick in the spring, but Riccarton advices indicate that he was in excellent fettle. Good and all as Aussie undoubtedly is. it has to be remembered that to-morrow he is taking on a champion. While one would like to see the ,porting action of Mr. George Paul rewarded by a victory over Limerick. it is feared here that the L.'mond gelding wili be too good It’s going to be „ rare tussle' whichever way the verdict goes’
