In the market, cucumbers are selling from 1s a case; cabbages, 2s to 3s a dozen; best grade potatoes, 4s to 5s a bag; green peas, 3s to 5s 6d a bag; beans, 2s 6d to 4s 6d a bag; pumpkins, 6d to 1s 6d each; carrots, beet, parsnips and turnips, 6d to 9d a dozen bundles; lettuces, 2s to 6s a case.
