BRIGADE QUELLS GRASS FIRE

The szntOutoe fire siren sounded twice yesterday. on account. of grass fire: in the town district. The first call was made at about 12.30 p.m. to an outbreak on a vacant section in Paton Avenue. A good breeze was blowing at the time, and :he flames were making toward a house on the next SN:tion. The brigade was soon on the soene. and had the flames in hand before any damage was done. The alarm was again sounded at 8.47: p.m., when the brigade turned out to another gras fire in Rangitoto Avenue. The flames were extinguished before any damage was done.
