DROWNED IN FLOODS
NEW SOUTH WALES MAN LIVE HORSES WASHED TO SEA (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 11 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. The floods on the north coast are abating rapidly. William Corrigan was drowned while attempting to swim a swollen creek near Casico. Serious stock losses occurred on the Wilson and Maria Rivers. and lower Hastings. Horses still alive were observed fighting desperately as they were swept out to sea. Gravel Island, a pleasure resort in Hastings, has almost disappeared, and the railway services on the northern lino are dislocated. As a result of a cloudburst near Tamworth, 10 inches of rain fell i.i less than half an hour. A huge wall of water, many feet deep, and half a mil© wide, swept down on the township of Duri.
