BIDS FOR LIBERTY

Two Escapes From Police Station

mental home inmate at large

Bids for liberty seem to be the order of the day. Last night a youth made his escape from a cell at the Central Police Station. \ esterday afternoon another prisoner leaped from a window at the Station, but was afterwards recaptured. An Auckland inmate of the Seacliffe Mental Hospital, who was found not guilty of the attempted murder of a constable in 1927, is at large. Still another case, in which two men who were under arrest, escaped from the escorting constable, is reported from Sydney.
