FEDERAL DEFENCE OFFICE CHARGES NOT PROVEN CANBERRA, Tuesday. The board of Inquiry appointed by the Public Service Commissioners to investigate the charges involving bribery made by Captain H. Larkin, managing director of Australian Aerial Services, against Mr. M. L. Shepherd, secretary of the Defence Department, has reported that the charges were not proven. The Minister oE Defence, Sir William Glasgow, has accordingly lifted Mr. Shepherd’s suspension.
