PHOSPHATES FROM MAKATEA.— Tne Hain Line steamer Tregenna is en route from Westport to Makatea to load phosphates for New Zealand.

THE WARSHIPS.—The four warships, the Dunedin, Diomede, Veronica and Laburnum, will leave port this afternoon for the Mauraki Gulf to take part in a mimic battle at Orewa. They will return to port to-morrow morning.

BARQUE GUSTAV RENAMED.—The large four-masted German barque Gustav. 2,525 tons, has been renamed the Melbourne, and is to load timber in Norway for Australia. The vessel was at Auckland in November, 1926.

MARISTON FROM ANTWERP.—The steamer Mariston, 4,557 tons, is reported to have left Antwerp on February 3 with a full cargo of basic slag: for discharge at Auckland and New Plymouth. She is due at Auckland about the middle of March.

lONIC DUE AT MIDNIGHT. —Due in the .stream at midnight to-night from London and Southampton, the White Star liner lonic is to berth at the Prince’s "Wharf about 5.30 a.m. to-morrow to land her passengers, mails and part cargo. Prom this port the vessel proceeds to Port Chalmers to complete her discharge, after which she loads on the coast for Home. P. D. Nathan and Company will act as the iocaj, agents.

KA W AT! R 1 LEAVES NEWCASTLE. — Cable advice has been received by the local office of the Union Company that the collier Kawatiri left Newcastle at 2 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is due next Monday.

PA KEH A DUE FRIDAY. —A wireless message from the Pakeha, en route from London, via Durban, received by the Shaw, Savili and Albion Company, reports that the vessel, which is in ballast, will arrive at Wellington next Friday afternoon. The ship will await loadings orders at Wellington. MANUKA LEAVES MILFORD.—The Union Company advises that the intercolonial passenger steamer Manuka left Milford Sound at 9 a.m. on Monday for Melbourne, en route from W ellington. She is due at Melbourne on Friday, and is to sail next Tuesday on the return trip to Wellington. MIDDLESEX LEAVES PANAMA. — The New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised by cable that the Federal steamer Middlesex left Panama last Thursday for the four chief New Zealand ports, en route from Liverpool. The vessel is due at Auckland on February 28. SYDNEY STEAMERS.—The Marama sails from Auckland at 3 p.m. on Friday for Sydney, and the Maunganui from Wellington at the same time. The Ulimaroa leaves Sydney at noon on Friday for Auckland All the three vessels are due at their arrival ports next Tuesday morning. CARGO FROM AFRICA—L. D. Nathan and Company, Limited, have received advice that the Shaw, Savili and Albion steamer Raranga, en route to Australia, was to leave Capetown on February 8 after loading African cargo for New Zealand. She will come to Auckland from Australia to load for England, and is due at this port on March 22. RIMUTAKA AT COLON.—The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the liner Rimutaka, en route from London and Southampton to Wellington, Port Chalmers, Timaru and New Plymouth, arrived at Colon on Monday last. The vessel is due at Wellington on March 5. PASSENGERS ON OTRANTO.—The following passengers for New Zealand are travelling by the Orient liner Otranto, which is due at Sydney from London to-morrow:—Mrs. Chatterton, Mr. S. LI. The Golden Cross leaves Los Angeles on April 1 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and probably Nelson. The Golden State leaves Los Angeles on May 1 for Auckland, Wellington, Timaru and Dunedin. The Golden West leaves Los Angeles on June 1 for Auckland, Wellington and Lyttelton. The Golden Coast leaves Los Angeles on July 1 for Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. The Golden Cross leaves Los Angeles on August 1 for Auckland, Wellington and Lyttelton. The Golden Cloud leaves Los Angeles on August 31 lor Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin.
