Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Following hard upon Miss Lily Copplestone’s failure to swim Cook Strait it is announced that Mr. Charles Barwell, aged 65, intends in the immediate future to assey a crossing in a collapsible canvas canoe measuring 7ft. by 3ft. 2in. He intends to make the journey alone, although as he himself says, if he is caught in a storm his chances of swimming will be small.
