There was a splendid light, with the sun obscured, and the wind was hardly suffiicent to move the flags. The meeting has advanced at such a Rood pace that only one range is being used for the Taranaki match, ten shots *U 800yds. The competitors are shooting in two squads, there being considerable dissension when they were informed that one to twenty-five squads would go to the mounds first, but fnere being indications that the conmtions will hold the first shootists will r eap no advantage.
