TENNIS AFTERNOON
FUNCTION AT DEVONPORT
At the Devonport Tennis Club courts last Friday a tennis afternoon was given in honour of Miss R. Stronacli, who is to be married next month. The hostesses were Miss B. Gudgeon and Miss M. Palairet. The tables in the pavilion were gaily decorated with gladioli and asparagus ferns. A progressive tennis tournament played during the afternoon was won by Miss R. Stronach and Miss H. King. The guests included Mrs. BruceSmith, Mrs. Pittock, Mrs. Reid, Mrs. Burd, Mrs. Earle, Mrs. Stronach, Mrs. Gudgeon, Mrs. Palairet* Mrs. Carter, Mrs. Whitley, Mrs. Scott, Miss D. Dive, Miss G.
