After being disqualified at a trotting meeting a jockey returned to the racecourse armed with a rifle, and rushing into the jockeys’ room he fired two shots, one narrowly missing the secretary of the club, Mr. Evans. The jockey was overpowered and charged with having attempted to kill the secretary.
