IMPRESSION OF GENERAL BOOTH

MESSAGE TO SALVATIONISTS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Thursday. A representative of the “Daily Express to whom General Booth granted the first interview since his illness, describes him as astonishinglv alert and mentally active. He says he spoke with vigour clarity and sustained argument. Ali ot which is surprising in view of the accounts of his frailty. The General justified his appeal to the law' by saying it was the only thing an honourable man could do. He proceeded:— Tell my people to keep on ■with their work Whatever happens. They must tell their story at street corners just as though nothing was the matter. No man or woman must be the loser because of the present difficulties. “Tell the public that Bramwell Booth is not going to fail in the trust committed to him by his father. While 1 have been ill I have been thinking much about the future. 1 want to help widows and families more than I have done, and I want to send more boys to Australia and Canada and to reinforce our missionary fields.”
