BRISTOL FIGHTER LEAVES

(Special to THE SUN) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday

Aerial co-operation will be provided in the combined manoeuvres of the New Zealand Division of the lloyal Navy and the northern territorial units. Major L. M. Isitt, who is in charge of the Hobsonville base now being prepared in Auckland, will üß e one of the Bristol Fighter airplanes from the Wigram Airdrome. Major Isitt left in the machine just before 2 p.m. to-day for Hawera, where he intends to stay for the night. With him on his flight to-day he took Air Mechanic Smith, from the Wigram Airdrome. Major Isitt will fly the machine himself in the manoeuvres, which begin very shortly. He expects to fly from Hawera to Auckland to-morrow.

On account of engine trouble experienced in crossing the Straits, Major Isitt. while journeying from Blenheim to Hawera, was forced to land on Waikanae Beach. A good landing was accomplished.
