PRESENTATION TO VICAR
FUNCTION AT NORTHCOTE
The Rev. Thos. Soutliworth, late vicar of St. John the Baptist Church, Northcote, was entertained at a social in the Parish Hall last evening, by a large number of church adherents and friends. Mr. H. S. Gribbin presided. The Mayor of Northcote, Mr. A. E. Greenslade, presented the retiring vicar with a substantial ■ cheque, which he stated was not only from church adherents, but also from residents who had appreciated the good work done by the vicar in the borough generallj'. Mr. J. J. Brown, Cr. .C. Johnston, Mr. J. A. Martin and Mrs. A. M. V. Collier also spoke expressing regret at the vicar’s loss to the parish, and wishing him success. Mr. Soutliworth briefly thanked those present for the gift.
