IMPERIAL RUGBY BOARD
SOUTH AFRICA ADVANCES N.Z. SCHEME
DELEGATE TO ENGLAND Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. The movement originated by the New Zealand Rugby Union for the setting up of an Imperial Rugby Board is at present being advanced by the South African Rugby Football Board, which body sent a delegate to England in connection with the matter. Air. Paul Roose is the delegate, and it is reported that he had interviews with the officials of the English Rugby Union, including Alessrs. V. H. Cartwright, James Baxter, W. T. Pearce and A. D. Stoop, as well as with an official of the Scottish Rugby Union. The negotiations are to be advanced a further stage this month, when it is expected that Mr. Roose will meet a sub-committee of the English Rugby Union. A conference with the International Board is also being arranged, and this will probably take place next month. South African information is to the effect that there is reason to believe that some tangible result will follow.
