FAILED TO KEEP BOOKS

Press Association INVERCARGILL, Wednesday

A plea of guilty was entered by Alexander George Youngson, bricklayer, an adjudged bankrupt, who was charged in the Magistrate’s Court to-day with failing to keep proper books in connec«*on with his business. It was stated that he had not kept any books, although he had been in business for six years.

Counsel for Youngson said he had gone into business without the necessary training, and although he had not K‘ pt books there was no suggestion of fraud.

The magistrate said he could not r.gre© to grant probation, and c-onvicted and sentenced Youngson to 14 da vs’ imprisonment.
