FATHER SUES SON
RETURN OF A GUN
(Special to THE SUN) WHANGAREI, Wednesday. In the Magistrate’s Court at Wh;tugarei, before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., yesterday, Wilmont Parkin, a farmer, * laimed £4O, the value of a gun, or 1- 5 damages for its detention, from his son, Alfred Parkin. Plaintiff said the gun had been presented to him when he came out from England, and it was valued at £6O at the time. While he was away in Auckland the gun disappeared. He found it in the hands of the police. A. Parkin said he took the gun from his brother’s room for safety’s sake, as his father had once threatened to shoot hirr. He took the gun to the police station and afterwards placed it in the car shed. When he received a demand for the gun from his father’s solicitor he did not return it, because he was afraid it would fall into his lather’s hands again. The gun had been broken during a struggle with his father. The magistrate reserved hi* decision.
