DALMATIAN’S DELUSIONS

ASSAULTED OLD MAN EXAMINATION ORDERED Said to be suffering delusions that an elderly man had been ''slinging off” at him from time to time, Ivan Sokolic, a Dalmatian, assaulted Joseph Brennan, at Paeroa, last November, causing him bodily injury by slashing his face with a pair of spurs. gOKOLIC was to have been tried in the Supreme Court this morning, but pleaded guilty to inflicting injurythough denying intent to hurt. On prisoner’s behalf Mr. R. A. Singer said Sokolic was undoubtedly under delusions. Counsel suggested the Crown should make a medical examination. Mr. V. N. Hubble, Crown Prosecutor, supported Mr. Singer. Mr. Justice Blair therefore remanded prisoner for sentence until he should be reported on.
