ternal Affairs, was accorded a civic reception by his constituents when, despite unfavourable weather, the theatre was comfortably filled. ; The lion. G. W. Forbes ancl the i Hon. E. A. Ransom were also present. and in their speeches dealt at 1 length with the Government’s inten- ! tion regarding land settlement. Mr. de la Perrelle spoke mainly on the working of his department. Mr. 1 Ransom and Mr. Forbes will be in Southland till Thursday, when they ! will proceed to Dunedin.
