STORM STRIKES SYDNEY

LIGHTNING AND RAIN MANY MINOR ACCIDENTS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11.6 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. A severe thunder storm struck Sydney last night, disorganising tram and telephone services. Many electriclight services also failed. A house at Drummoyne Avas struck by lightning. Two men were also struck, one at Coogee and the other at Randwick. Dozens of minor street accidents also occurred in the torrents of rain which fell.

Substantial falls were also recorded along the South Coast, which had experienced particularly dry weather. Indications point to good rain over the eastern divisions of the State.
