Hen eggs are now cringing 1s 4d to 1s 6d a dozen; intermediate size hen eggs, 1s 2d to 1s 3d; pullet eggs, 1s to 1s Id; and duck, 1s 3d to 1s 4d. Supplies are shorter, and the demand is keen. In the markets, farmers' butter is bringing 1s Id to 1s 4d a lb. Supplies are moderate, and the demand is good. In the shops, first grade factory butter is bringing 1s 10d a lb, and good quality 1s 9d. Loin and hindquarters of lamb are selling at 1s 3d a lb in the shops; leg, 1s 4d; forequarter, 1s 1d; leg of mutton, 9d; hindquarters, 9d; forequarters, 7d; shoulders and necks, 7ad; leg and loin chops, 11d; neck shops, 8d; trimmed cutlets, 1s Id; prime rib of beef, 7d; corned round and beef steak, 8d; suet, gravy beef, and sausages, 6d; rump steak, 1s 2d; sirloin, 10d; chuck rib, 7d. Potatoes, in the markets, are selling at 2s to 4s a bag; onions. 3s to 4s a bag; green peas, 3s to 6s a bag; lettuces, 2s to 6s a case; cabbages, 2s to 4s a dozen; pumpkins, 6d to 2s each: carrots, parsnips, beet and turnips, 9d to 1s 6d a dozen bundles; rock melons, 1s to 2s 6d each; beans, 2s to 5s a bag.
