BURGLARY AT WIRI

THIEVES DISTURBED BY CAR (From Our Own Correspondent) OTAHUHU. To-day. A house owned and occupied by Mr. N. Grant, farmer, Great South Road, Wiri, was entered by burglars on Sunday night. On returning from a holiday, Mr. Grant found the door and window open and a quantity of silver and preserves ready for removal. On making a search nothing was found to be missing. Entry was gained by forcing the door with a slasher, and it is considered that an exit was made by the bathroom window when the thieves heard the car pull into the property.
