DOUBLE TRAGEDY IN HOTEL

(Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Sunday. There was a dramatic shooting tragedy in the smoking-room of the Royal Hotel at Buxton. A customer, formerly a sergeant-major named Hayward, fired a revolver twice at a barmaid, Ellen Trenholme. and wounded her slightly. The proprietor of the hotel, Frank Turner, hearing her screams, rushed in to protect the girl, when a bullet entered his br&in and he fell dead. Hayward then put the muzzle of the revolver in his mouth and shot himself dead
