PERSONAL. —Mr. H. R. Frith has re- ] joined the Hauraki as chief engineer j after holiday leave, relieving Mr. W. Wig- , gins for holidays. Mr. B. W. Gandell has rejoined the Tamahine as second engineer after being ashore on sick leave. Mr. E. W. Mackley has joined the Maori as second engineer, relieving Mr. V. Standring for holidays. The Kaiapoi will be recommissioned with the following engineers: Chief. Mr. P. Morrison; second, Mr. L. Blomfield; third, Mr. J. D. Kelly. TARANAKI REPORTED.—The Shaw. Savill and Albion motor-ship Taranaki is reported to have reached Panama last Friday, en route from Dunedin to London. She sailed from Dunedin on Jan- ' uary 10. PA K EH A TO LOAD.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Pakeha left Port Natal for New Zealand on January 25. The vessel is to load in New Zealand for England, and is due at Auckland about March 8. THE TURAKINA.—From Auckland via New York, Halifax, London, Avonmouth and Glasgow, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Turakina reached Liverpool on Friday. She sailed from Auckland on November 30. ZEALANDIC LEAVES HO M E.—According to cable advice the Shaw, Savill and Albion motor-ship Zeaiandic left Falmouth in ballast last Tuesday for New Zealand. The vessel is due in New Zealand about March 4 to load for Home. MAHANA'S MOVEMENTS.—The Shew. Savill and Albion Company advises that the Mahana will leave Wellington to-day for Wanganui roadstead and Bluff to complete loading. She is now fixed to sail finally from Bluff on February 13 for London, via Panama. KEKERANGU FROM SOUTH AUSTRALIA.—The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the steamer Kekerangu, en route from South Australian ports and Melbourne, leaves Hobart this afternoon for Dunedin, Lyttelton, New Plymouth and Auckland. HERTFORD AT LONDON.—The New Zealand Shipping Company have been notified by cable that the Federal steamer Hertford arrived at London on Wednesday from Auckland. The vessel sailed from Auckland on December 15 for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool. CARGO FROM NEW YORK.—The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer City of Norwich left New York last Friday with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due here on March 5. WESTMORELAND LEAVES PANAMA.—CabIed news has been received ky the New Zealand Shipping Company that the federal steamer Westmoreland arrived at Panama on January 27 from Liverpool, and sailed again on January 28 Auckl and, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The vessel is due it Auckland on February 17. The Waikawa will leave Lyttelton today for Dunedin, Bluff and New Plymouth, and go thence to Sydney, New- i castle and Vancouver. The Hauraki left Auckland on Satur- ; day for Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney, and go thence to Van- ! couver direct. • The Waitemata was to leave Los An- J geles yesterday, and is due at Auckland ' on February 27. and proceeds thence to | Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. The Waihemo, which left Newcastle on i January 5, was due at Vancouver last | Saturday.
