EMPLOYEE’S ANNUAL PICNIC

The staff of the Otahuhu Borough Council and their friends held their annual picnic at Cockle Bay on Saturday. The journey was made by bus, and a delightful day was spent on the beach. The arrangements for the function were in the hands of a committee consisting of Messrs. W. J. Hughes. E. Ander and F. W. Bennett, Among those present were: Mr. R. T Todd, Mayor of Otahuhu; Mr. Thomas Clements, Deputy-Mayor and chairman of the Works Committee; Mr. de Montalk, and Mr. R. W. Wood, town clerk. At the conclusion of the sports events, Mrs. Clements presented the successful competitors with their trophies. Results: Boys, 5 to 8 years.—P. McManus 1, E. McManus 2, J. Moffat 3.
